Hiya!
Welcome to the Laundry Day 101! Here you'll find all the info you need for this coming Sunday marathon! Please read carefully.
What to wear:
The best outfit is the one that makes you feel like a total badass.
Barely There Look If you love celebrating your body in minimal fabric, bring on the thongs & micro bras. Full & partial nude is also welcome!
A Lil More Coverage Opt for a high-waisted set, a plunging bodysuit, or a robe! Oversized white dress shirts, and unbuttoned jeans are great for layering and doing more "tease" photos.
STYLE AESTHETICS TO PLAY WITH
The Vintage Homemaker High-waisted cotton briefs or vintage-style bloomers.
A structured retro bustier or a lace bra.
Details like ruffled aprons, vintage headscarves tied in the hair, or rollers in your hair.
Timeless & Classy A oversized white button-down shirt worn open.
Silk or satin slips in champagne, ivory, or pearl tones. White or cream lingerie sets.
Bare feet, and effortless, tousled "bedhead" hair.
Cottage core & Boho This look is all about romantic textures, lace, and a gentle, whimsical energy. Crocheted bralettes, lace trimmed slips. Florals patterns & tall white socks.
Quick Styling Tips for the Clothesline Set:
- Think in Textures: Cotton, linen, lace, and silk photograph beautifully.
- Mind the Colours: White, pastels, and earth tones pop best against green foliage, but don't be afraid of a bold gingham or red if you're going full pinup!
🧴 Skin & Body Prep:
Preparation is key to feeling comfortable and glowing from the inside out. Here is how to prep in the days leading up to the shoot:
THE HAIR REMOVAL BREAKDOWN
First rule: You do not have to shave or wax to be camera-ready. Come exactly as you are and how you feel most comfortable!
However, if you do choose to groom, timing is everything to avoid camera-visible irritation:
If you wax: Schedule your appointment 2 to 3 days prior to the shoot. This gives any redness, bumps, or skin irritation plenty of time to calm down.
If you shave: Do it the day before the shoot, not the morning of. Shaving right before jumping into a pool can cause stinging and red bumps. Use a fresh razor, lots of shaving cream, and moisturize immediately after!
HYDRATION & SKIN GLOW
Drink Water Starting NOW: Seriously, chug. Proper hydration plumps your skin, clears up your complexion, and gives you that natural glow.
Moisturize: Lotion everyday leading up to the shoot, paying extra attention to elbows, knees, and ankles.
Watch the Tan Lines (and Sunburns): Try to avoid getting any harsh tan lines or, worse! a sunburn leading up to the marathon.
☀️ Day-Of Essentials: What to Pack
Make sure you toss these items into your bag:
Water or drink of choice
Hair brush and makeup for touch ups
Outfit to the session: Wear loose clothing to the shoot. Tight bras, jeans, or socks leave indentation marks on your skin that take a while to fade, I can photoshop them out if they are there but plz try to save me from that. A loose button-down shirt or sundress is perfect. Have your outfit on underneath for ultimate readiness.
Sunscreen: Wear sunscreen to protect your skin during the session. Bonus tip, bring an oil if you want to be extra shiny.
Props of your choice: I will have a clothes line with a white sheet, a bra & a pair of stockings. As well as apples, a wash board & a wash bucket. If there are any specific props you want to add to your look please bring em over.
If you have items you want hung on the clothes line, please bring them!
This could be your own lingerie, some fun socks or tights, a fave tshirt, anything!
Just a friendly reminder:
your session is 30 minutes long.
While it might feel fast once the music starts and the camera begins clicking, please don't worry! Thirty minutes is the sweet spot for the clothesline set with one outfit. Thirty minutes is all it takes to lock in. It keeps the energy high, cuts out the overthinking, and lets us dial straight into the good stuff.
